RONMAC MUSIC
BAND TIPS #1
SNARES: Check your snares often to make sure they are tight and attached properly.
TUBA/BARITONE: Never stand your horn on it's bell.
TROMBONE: Always hold your trombone by the outside hand-slide brace when not playing.
HORN: Make sure your right hand position is always correct.
SAXOPHONE: A good mouthpiece and proper key and pad regulation are essential for good intonation.
CLARINET: Make sure your right thumb exerts upward pressure against the thumb rest.
OBOE/BASSOON: Oboe and Bassoon reeds are very fragile. Make sure you use a good quality reed prepared "for you" by a professional double reed musician.
FLUTE: The flute is manufactured to produce the best pitch with the head joint pulled out 1/8' to 1/4". Excessive pulling will cause the flute scale to be out of tune.
